I was born and raised in Stillwater, MN, a hop away from the vibrant music scene in the Twin Cities. Being surrounded by so many different genres of performing shaped who I am as a musician. My path eventually brought me to Augustana College (IL) where I completed by BA in Music Education with a concentration in voice. During my time there I toured most of Scandinavia with the Augustana Choir, and after completing my clinical hours I went to Tanzania with two of my professors for the summer to instruct in general music classes at two universities.

After completing my student teaching, I took a job to be the Nursery - Grade 12 music teacher at Georgetown International Academy in Guyana, South America. During my five years at the school, I helped develop the music curriculum and expand the musical theatre program. I also established an international trip for students in Grade 9-12 to Manhattan to participate in the Broadways Student Summit. Outside of music, I served as an advisor for the Key Club Chapter and on the PTO Executive Board.
